Abuja: The News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) has inducted 209 newly recruited staff members, urging them to uphold professionalism and integrity in the discharge of their duties. The induction ceremony took place at the agency’s headquarters in Abuja.

According to News Agency of Nigeria, the Managing Director of NAN, Malam Ali M. Ali, highlighted the privilege of beginning a career with Africa’s largest news content provider. He emphasized the selection based on merit and encouraged the new employees to maintain the agency’s standard of professionalism. He advised the new recruits to be active in their duties, uphold public service rules, and work hard to have their appointments confirmed while avoiding misconduct.

The Special Adviser to the Managing Director on Editorial Operations, Mr. Ephraim Sheyin, underscored the importance of integrity in journalism and public service. He emphasized that accuracy and credibility must guide the recruits’ work at all times. Sheyin also noted that the agency is experiencing one of its largest intakes of staffers and described NAN as a place of opportunity for professionals across different fields.
