Lafia: Healthcare Partner+, in collaboration with the Advocacy for Development, Health and Environmental Sustainability (ADHES), has presented the ‘Award of Impact’ to Nasarawa State Commissioner for Health, Dr Gaza Gwamna. The award recognises Gwamna’s contributions to expanding access to healthcare services, promoting equity, and strengthening accountability across the state’s health sector.
According to News Agency of Nigeria, the convener, Mr Shem Adah, highlighted Dr Gwamna’s commitment to advancing community health and fostering collaboration with stakeholders. Adah emphasized that Gwamna’s leadership ensures health services reach underserved communities and supports vulnerable groups across Nasarawa State.
Adah further noted that Gwamna’s initiatives align with Sustainable Development Goal 3 (Good Health and Well-being), which aims to reduce mortality, strengthen health systems, and ensure universal access to essential services. Key initiatives such as infrastructure upgrades, workforce development, and enhanced emergency response demonstrate his dedication to achieving SDG 3 targets.
Gwamna’s contributions reflect global best practices in public health. In response to receiving the award, Gwamna expressed gratitude, stating, “I deeply appreciate this honour. It encourages us to intensify efforts to deliver quality healthcare services across Nasarawa State.”
