Abuja: The Nationwide League One (NLO) has sanctioned the rescheduling of a replay fixture between Kano Ambassadors FC and Musa Musa FC, following appeals associated with the Eid-el-Kabir celebration.
According to News Agency of Nigeria, the decision was communicated in a letter dated May 25, addressed to the Kano State Football Association, FCT Football Association, and Katsina State Football Association. The clubs involved had earlier submitted a request to shift the replay match, initially set for May 26, to accommodate the Eid-el-Kabir festivities.
The NLO expressed its understanding of the religious and cultural responsibilities of the clubs, players, and officials involved in the competition. The letter highlighted the league’s respect for these commitments, emphasizing the importance of fairness, inclusivity, and optimal performance on the field. As a result, the management reviewed and approved the request to reschedule the match.
The revised date for the fixture is now May 31, to be played at the Bwari Stadium in Abuja, with the kick-off time unchanged at 10 a.m. The league body confirmed that all relevant parties, including the opposing teams, match officials, and stadium management, had been informed to ensure smooth coordination.
Additionally, both teams have been instructed to attend the match with exactly 20 players and five officials. The letter extended wishes for a peaceful Eid-el-Kabir celebration to the clubs and supporters, acknowledging their dedication to grassroots football development. The letter was signed by Temitayo Egbaiyelo, the League Manager of the NLO.
