Post: Northern Cross River Residents Rally Behind JAJ, Otu, and Tinubu for 2027 Elections

Abuja: Thousands of residents from the five local government areas of northern Cross River living in Abuja held a solidarity rally on Monday in support of Sen. Jarigbe Agom Jarigbe (JAJ), Gov. Bassey Otu, and President Bola Tinubu ahead of the 2027 general elections.

According to News Agency of Nigeria, the rally, which took place at Millennium Park, attracted political stakeholders, youth groups, women associations, traditional leaders, and party faithful from the Northern Senatorial District. Organisers portrayed the event as an expression of gratitude for the leadership and development achievements linked to the trio.

Participants lauded Jarigbe for his representation at the National Assembly and his consistent commitment to the development of Cross River. Speakers at the rally also praised Gov. Otu for his administration’s efforts in infrastructure development, economic revitalisation, and improved governance in the state.

Community leaders addressing the gathering expressed satisfaction with the collaboration between the state government and the Federal Government under President Tinubu. They highlighted that this partnership had led to increased federal presence in the state through road projects, economic initiatives, and social intervention programmes.

One speaker affirmed, “The people of Northern Cross River stand firmly with JAJ, Gov. Otu, and President Tinubu. Their leadership represents stability, development, and progress for our state and the country.”

Maj. Obi Odu, the convener of the rally, stated that the event was organised to publicly endorse Jarigbe and commend his performance in office. He noted that the senator had surpassed expectations in delivering democratic dividends to the people of the district.

Mr Joseph Abua also expressed that Jarigbe merited another term based on his performance. An elder from Bekwarra Local Government Area, speaking anonymously, praised Jarigbe and Gov. Otu for their efforts in developing the state, but urged President Tinubu to focus more on the economic challenges facing Nigerians.

The elder remarked that while the president had made efforts, more needed to be done to alleviate the hardship experienced by many citizens. He added that the people of Northern Cross River would continue to support Jarigbe, Otu, and Tinubu in the 2027 elections.

The rally featured cultural displays, solidarity marches, and goodwill messages from political leaders and stakeholders. Notable dignitaries at the event included Amb. Akpang Obi Odu, Ntufam Fidelis Ugbo, Fidel Osang, Chief Peter Ojie, Martins Orim, Dr Dornclaimz Enamhe, Thomas Agi, Regina Anyogo, Chief Austin Edibe, Gabriel Oluohu, and Roy-Jones Akpak, among others.
