Post: NSCDC Apprehends Two Men for Alleged Rape of Minors in Ondo


Akure: The Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC), Ondo State Command, has announced the arrest of two individuals accused of raping two minors, aged 13 and 15, in Akure, the state capital. The arrests were confirmed by SC Daniel Aidamenbor, Head of Media and Public Relations for the command, through a statement issued on Wednesday.



According to News Agency of Nigeria, the suspects, aged 22 and 38, allegedly committed the offenses on March 13 and April 13, respectively, and were apprehended in different locations across the state. Emeka Chidi Innocent, a 22-year-old farmer, reportedly raped a 13-year-old girl on March 3. After being on the run, Chidi was tracked down and arrested in Idanre, located within the Idanre Local Government Area.



In another case, a 38-year-old tiler named Ayodele John was accused of defiling a 15-year-old girl in her parents’ home in Akure on April 13. He was subsequently arrested on April 14. Both suspects have reportedly confessed to their crimes and are set to face legal proceedings.



Aidamenbor emphasized the importance of proper profiling and background checks on artisans, urging parents to remain vigilant. He stated, “Parental duties should not be outsourced. In these cases, both suspects are known to the victims and their parents.”
