Anambra: The African Democratic Congress (ADC) loyal to the Sen. David Mark-led national leadership elected a new executive committee in Anambra. The congress, conducted through a consensus, resulted in the election of Mr. Christopher Nwosu as Chairman and Chigbo Enwezo as Secretary.
According to News Agency of Nigeria, the consensus method was adopted at the congress following a motion moved by Mr. Timothy Egboka and seconded by Benchucks Nwosu. The congress also ratified all previous congresses and dissolved executive committees at various levels through motions moved by Chief Lawrence Ezeudu and Onyebuchi Offor, and by Mr. Vincent Ofumelu and Mr. Chudi Orizu, respectively.
Amb. Fidel Ayogu, Chairman of the Congress Committee, stated that the consensus method aligns with the party’s constitution and addresses the challenges of direct congress. Ayogu emphasized that the ADC remains viable despite challenges and encouraged members to stay resilient. The congress adhered to directives from the Mark-led National Working Committee, with Mr. Peter Obi serving as the leader in Anambra.
Ayogu highlighted Anambra as a strong base for the ADC, noting the presence of distinguished Senators and members of the House of Representatives and House of Assembly from the area. He formally presented the new leadership of the party in Anambra, emphasizing the legitimacy of the congress conducted through consensus.
