Lagos: The Oba Otudeko Foundation has initiated a food outreach programme across Ogun State, with the first phase benefiting over 500 households in Odogbolu. This initiative is part of the foundation’s December Community initiative, which aims to support around 2,000 vulnerable families throughout the state.
According to News Agency of Nigeria, Mrs. Yewande Giwa, spokesperson for the Oba Otudeko Foundation, stated that the programme is being implemented through a zonal rollout covering all four geopolitical zones of the state. The beneficiaries in Odogbolu include residents, persons with disabilities, and other vulnerable community members. They received food provision packs containing staples such as rice, garri, and other essential items to support household feeding during the festive period.
The initiative reflects the founder’s values of caring for people by strengthening human capacity through food support and practical assistance. Dr. Oba Otudeko, CFR, believes that true leadership is measured by the lives it uplifts, and this outreach embodies that philosophy by meeting needs in a way that preserves dignity, strengthens communities, and affirms the humanity of every beneficiary.
Mrs. Giwa emphasized that the foundation views this time of year as an opportunity for communities to come together and uplift one another. The initiative aims to model love, care, and value for every community member. Ahead of the outreach, foundation representatives visited the Odogbolu Traditional Council, led by the Alaye-in-Council, to seek royal blessings and reaffirm collaboration with traditional institutions. The palace representatives commended the foundation for engaging local leadership in the planning and execution of the programme.
