Post: PDP Sweeps Adamawa Local Government Elections, Secures All Chairmanship and Councillorship Seats


Yola: The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) has emerged victorious in the Adamawa Local Government Elections, securing all 21 chairmanship seats in the elections conducted on Saturday. The results were announced on Monday by Mr. Mohammed Umar, the Chairman of the Adamawa State Independent Electoral Commission (ADSIEC).



According to News Agency of Nigeria, Umar also confirmed that the PDP triumphed in all 226 councillorship seats across the state’s wards. The results were verified following the final collation of votes from the 21 local government areas.



Following the final tally, Umar stated, “The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) has won all the 21 chairmanship seats contested in the state. The party also won all the 226 councillorship seats across the wards, while the election was conducted peacefully.”



The ADSIEC chairman further elaborated that although 11 political parties initially showed interest in the election, only four parties ultimately participated. These parties included the PDP, All Progressives Congress (APC), Social Democratic Party (SDP), and African Democratic Congress (ADC).
