Abuja: The Social Democratic Party (SDP) Women Parliament has welcomed the publication of Dr Adewole Adebayo’s name by the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) as the party’s presidential candidate. The National Speaker of the parliament, Amb. Sa’adatu Abdullahi, expressed that this development reinforces the party’s readiness to provide Nigerians with a credible alternative in the upcoming election.
According to News Agency of Nigeria, Abdullahi, in a statement issued on Sunday in Abuja, described the recognition as a significant milestone that reflects the commitment of the party’s National Working Committee (NWC). This move has strengthened confidence in the party’s leadership and democratic process. She highlighted that the official announcement of the SDP presidential ticket, with Adebayo and his running mate, Dr Usman Bugaje, showcases the party’s preparedness to present Nigerians with leadership grounded in good governance, social justice, economic prosperity, and the rule of law.

She urged women, youths, party members, and supporters to remain united and intensify grassroots mobilization as the election approaches.
The SDP Women Parliament Speaker also encouraged supporters to promote issue-based campaigns and effectively communicate the party’s vision for a peaceful, prosperous, and inclusive Nigeria. Abdullahi appealed to Nigerians to pray for Adebayo, seeking wisdom, strength, good health, and guidance for him as he prepares for the contest.
