Abuja: President Bola Tinubu has congratulated the Minister of State for Foreign Affairs, Amb. Sola Enikanolaiye, on his 65th birthday. According to News Agency of Nigeria, Enikanolaiye celebrated his birthday on Monday, September 14.
In a statement released by his Special Adviser on Information and Strategy, Bayo Onanuga, President Tinubu lauded Enikanolaiye as a distinguished diplomat and dedicated public servant. The President highlighted Enikanolaiye’s career as a reflection of professionalism, patriotism, and commitment to Nigeria, expressing confidence in his ability to strengthen Nigeria’s diplomatic institutions and advance national interests on a global scale.
President Tinubu emphasized Enikanolaiye’s extensive experience in diplomacy, international relations, administration, and strategic affairs, noting it as an invaluable asset to Nigeria’s standing in the international community. He also extended his prayers for Enikanolaiye’s continued health, wisdom, and strength to serve the nation.
The President commended Enikanolaiye’s contributions to Nigeria’s diplomatic service, both at the ministry’s headquarters and in international missions. He acknowledged Enikanolaiye’s role in shaping Nigeria’s foreign policy and multilateral engagements with organizations such as the United Nations, African Union, and Commonwealth.
Enikanolaiye’s appointment as Minister of State for Foreign Affairs was described by President Tinubu as a fitting recognition of his extensive diplomatic experience and record of service. Enikanolaiye’s career with the Ministry of Foreign Affairs spanned from August 1982 to August 2017, culminating in his position as Permanent Secretary. He also served as Senior Special Assistant to the President on Foreign Affairs and International Relations before his current ministerial role.
