Kano: The Kano State Pilgrims Welfare Board has announced the death of two intending pilgrims who lost their lives in a road accident along Rimin Gado in Kano. This was revealed in a statement by the Public Relations Officer of the Board, Sulaiman Dederi.
According to News Agency of Nigeria, the statement identified the deceased as Alkasim Ibrahim-Walawa, aged 48, and his mother, Hadiza Garba, aged 73. They were reportedly traveling in preparation for the pilgrimage when the fatal accident took place. Both victims were from Walawa Village in Kabo Local Government Area of Kano State.
Dederi expressed that their passing is especially sorrowful as they were on a noble journey, intending to travel to the holy land for pilgrimage. The board extended its condolences to the bereaved family and offered prayers for strength and patience to help them endure their loss.
