Abuja: The Minister of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Mr Nyesom Wike, has directed the immediate closure of the secretariat of the dissolved Ad-hoc Committee on Sales of Federal Government Houses (SFGH) in the FCT.
According to News Agency of Nigeria, Mr Lere Olayinka, Senior Special Assistant to the minister on Public Communications and Social Media, announced this in a statement issued on Wednesday in Abuja. Olayinka stated that the minister has also approved the establishment of a division within the Department of Land Administration to manage issues related to SFGH in the FCT.
He further explained that after the committee concluded its assignments, its secretariat was maintained to address issues arising from its activities. With the formal closure of the secretariat, the public is now advised to approach the Department of Land Administration for all SFGH-related matters in the territory.
The spokesperson also warned the public to be cautious of individuals posing as staff, officers, or members of the now-defunct ad-hoc committee and secretariat on SFGH, emphasizing that the committee and secretariat are no longer in existence.
