Abuja: Minister of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Nyesom Wike, has described the delivery of infrastructure projects in the FCT as ‘clear demonstration of governance in action.’ He stated this in Abuja on Wednesday after an inspection tour of project sites in Karu, Apo-Karshi, and the Gbazango area of Kubwa.
According to News Agency of Nigeria, the minister expressed satisfaction with the pace and quality of ongoing road projects across the capital, commending contractors for maintaining high standards while adhering to strict delivery timelines. He praised the contractor executing the Karu township road for their performance, highlighting the firm’s track record, including the Ushafa Road slated for inauguration in 2025, as justification for the administration’s trust in indigenous capacity.
The minister noted his satisfaction with the level of work and quality at Karu, mentioning that it is one of the roads set for inauguration during the third-year anniversary of Mr. President. Regarding the Apo to Karshi Road, Wike assured residents that the project would be completed before the end of the year.
In Gbazango, also known as Arab Road in Kubwa, the minister commended the contractor’s efficiency, alongside the Gomani to Yangoji road, both of which are scheduled for inauguration to celebrate President Bola Tinubu’s third anniversary. Wike highlighted that the inspection, which received spontaneous cheers from local residents, validated the impact of the FCT Administration’s efforts.
He emphasized that the administration’s priorities are excellence and speed, ensuring that road projects align with engineering benchmarks and deadlines. Wike concluded by assuring that the FCT would soon witness a series of inaugurations to celebrate the administration’s milestones.
