Post: Wike Defends Cross-Party Support for Tinubu’s 2027 Re-Election

Abuja:The Minister of the Federal Capital Territory, Mr. Nyesom Wike, has defended the growing cross-party political alliance supporting President Bola Tinubu’s re-election bid in 2027. He emphasized that this coalition, which includes figures from the All Progressives Congress (APC), All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA), Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), and other political platforms, transcends individual party affiliations.

According to News Agency of Nigeria, Wike dismissed claims of internal crisis during a media chat in Abuja, describing the coalition as a movement that brings together diverse political figures for Tinubu’s support. Despite being a member of the PDP, Wike stated he would lead Tinubu’s re-election campaign in the Federal Capital Territory and Rivers State.

Highlighting the key figures involved, he mentioned Governor Charles Soludo of Anambra (APGA) as a significant campaigner for Tinubu in his state. Similarly, Governor Ademola Adeleke of Osun (PDP) is supporting the President nationally while maintaining his party identity at the state level.

Wike addressed critics who view cross-party support as contradictory, arguing that it demonstrates leadership capacity and political strength. He also praised opposition figures and state governors, such as the Governor of Bauchi State, for acknowledging the President’s achievements in national infrastructure and governance.

He urged politicians to prioritize national progress over partisan interests, stating, “For us, whether anybody likes it or not, Mr. President has done well.”
