Post: Wike Praises Tinubu for Appointing Orluwene as UPTH Chief Medical Director


Abuja: The Minister of Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Mr. Nyesom Wike, has praised the appointment of Prof. Chituru Orluwene as the Chief Medical Director (CMD) of the University of Port-Harcourt Teaching Hospital (UPTH). Wike expressed his commendation in a statement signed by his Senior Special Assistant on Public Communications and Social Media, Mr. Lere Olayinka.



According to News Agency of Nigeria, the Minister expressed gratitude to President Bola Tinubu for recognizing another Rivers indigene with a federal appointment. Wike acknowledged Tinubu’s consistent support for Rivers and its people and pledged continued support for the President’s governance efforts.



Wike described the appointment of Orluwene by Tinubu as an apt decision, equating it to ‘putting another round peg in a round hole.’ He encouraged Prof. Orluwene to leverage his extensive experience to enhance the state of the Teaching Hospital, aligning with Tinubu’s ‘Renewed Hope Agenda.’



Additionally, Wike extended his appreciation to the Coordinating Minister of Health and Social Welfare, Prof. Muhammad Pate, for recommending Orluwene for the role.
