Marrakech: BUA Group Chairman, Abdul Samad Rabiu, has pledged cash rewards to Nigeria’s Super Eagles following their 2-0 victory over Algeria in the AFCON 2025 quarter-final.
According to News Agency of Nigeria, Rabiu announced the pledge on Saturday through his X handle, congratulating the players for their performance and national pride.
Rabiu expressed his admiration for the team’s achievement, stating, “Congratulations to our Super Eagles on a brilliant victory. You lifted the nation’s spirit and showed the true Nigerian fighting spirit.” He has promised a $500,000 reward for winning the semi-final, along with an additional $50,000 for every goal scored.
Furthermore, Rabiu stated that a victory in the final would attract $1 million, plus $100,000 for each goal scored in the championship match. He commended the players for their discipline, courage, and unity, adding that Nigerians are proud of them and stand firmly behind the team.
The BUA chairman also urged the Eagles to remain focused, emphasizing that their success inspires millions of Nigerians both at home and in the diaspora. “Go out there, play with heart and confidence. You carry the hopes of over 200 million Nigerians,” Rabiu said.
Nigeria secured their place in the semi-finals after defeating Algeria 2-0 at the Stade de Marrakech on Saturday.
