Lagos: The Alimosho General Hospital in Igando, Lagos, recently organized a special program for in-patients as part of its Christmas celebration efforts. The event aimed to commemorate the Yuletide season with those receiving treatment at the hospital.
According to News Agency of Nigeria, the hospital’s Medical Director, Dr. Ayodapo Soyinka, highlighted that the Christmas season embodies love, hope, and compassion, and stated the importance of celebrating with patients during this time. He emphasized that the program is an expression of care and support for patients in their vulnerable states, with the belief that the season of love would bring renewed hope for healing.
Dr. Soyinka, represented by the Director of Clinical Services, Dr. Jane Bakare, reassured the patients of the hospital’s ongoing commitment to providing optimal services. He also acknowledged the dedication and commitment of the hospital staff, noting that their hard work reflects the spirit of Christmas. Dr. Soyinka pointed out challenges such as persistent flooding during the rainy season and issues related to the Igando dumpsite as some of the obstacles faced by the hospital.
In addition, Dr. Adeshola Pitan, the Permanent Secretary of Health District One, representing the Lagos State Government, applauded the hospital for organizing the event. He encouraged the staff and management to continue their dedicated service to patients by ministering life and care through their work.
The News Agency of Nigeria further reports that in-patients across various wards of the hospital received gifts as part of the celebration.
