Abuja: Minister of the Federal Capital Territory, Nyesom Wike, announced that the FCT Administration is planning to provide critical infrastructure in the newly opened Waru-Pozema District. This development aims to facilitate the relocation of residents and developers to the area.
According to News Agency of Nigeria, Wike made this statement following his inspection of the ongoing dualisation of the Outer Southern Expressway, stretching from Ring Road I to Ring Road II, along with other projects in Abuja. He mentioned that the Administration intends to collaborate with the Federal Capital Development Authority and other relevant agencies to ensure the provision of essential infrastructure in the district, which is situated in Cadastral Zone D16.
Although Wike expressed uncertainty regarding the district’s inclusion in the FCT 2026 budget, he assured that measures would be taken to promote development in the area. He emphasized the need to consult with the FCDA or the Coordinator of Satellite Towns Development Department to determine their plans and budgetary allocations for the district. Despite the budgetary concerns, he pledged to provide the necessary infrastructure to enable habitation in the district.
In addition to the Waru-Pozema District, the Minister also reviewed the ongoing construction of the Abuja Division of the Court of Appeal Complex in Dakibiyu. He expressed satisfaction with the progress and indicated optimism for its completion by May, with plans for an inauguration by President Bola Tinubu to mark his third anniversary.
Furthermore, Wike noted that the 40 housing units Judges’ Quarters, complete with furnishings, were nearing completion and would be inaugurated by President Tinubu. During his inspection of a ring road construction in Katampe, he commended the contractor for the work’s pace and quality.
Wike reiterated that his regular project inspections across the FCT are driven by his commitment to serving the community, a commitment bolstered by President Tinubu’s support.
