Post: Federal Government Leads Rebuilding Efforts in Tudun Biri, Kaduna

Tudun biri: More details have emerged on the Federal Government’s efforts to rebuild Tudun Biri in Kaduna State following an accidental military drone strike in which some lives were lost and properties destroyed. Addressing newsmen on Friday in Tudun Biri, Kaduna State Commissioner for Information, Ahmed Maiyaki, said the Federal Government had adopted a collaborative approach with the state.

According to News Agency of Nigeria, this collaboration resulted in the construction of 134 housing units under the first phase. Vice President Kashim Shettima had already inaugurated the houses. The houses were allocated to families of deceased persons and other community members. The Nigerian military also built a school in the community.

The state government allocated new farmlands with Certificates of Occupancy to families whose original lands were used for rebuilding. A skills acquisition centre was constructed for youth development. The mosque affected by the incident was rebuilt, and a new church was constructed to strengthen interfaith harmony.

The government put in place essential infrastructure in the community. This includes a six-kilometre road and a solar panel lighting system as well as a Level-2 health facility to provide medical services. Tudun Biri, a community close to Kaduna International Airport, suffered a Nigeria Air Force accidental drone strike in December 2023 which claimed some lives and destroyed properties.
