Post: Governor Sule Inaugurates Development Projects in Akwanga


Akwanga:Governor Abdullahi Sule of Nasarawa State has inaugurated several projects executed by Safiyanu Andaha, the Chairman of Akwanga Local Government Area, to boost service delivery and development in the region. These projects include the office of the Executive Chairman, a legislative chamber, a residential building for personnel of the Nigerian Army’s Operation Whirl Stroke, and an Education Department building.



Accourding to News Agency of Nigeria, Governor Sule praised Andaha for his dedication to grassroots development. He highlighted that these projects are a result of economic reforms introduced by President Bola Tinubu, which have increased resources for state and local governments. Sule also noted his administration’s commitment to allowing local government councils to manage their own finances without interference.



The governor announced the approval of the construction of Bassa Road and other roads across the state to enhance agricultural production and socio-economic activities. He also urged political figures in the state to focus on issue-based campaigns to promote peace and development.



Several dignitaries, including the Emir of Lafia, retired Justice Sidi Bage; Chun Mada, Mr. Samson Gamu Yare; Senator Ahmed Wadada; Senator Danladi Envulunza; and Speaker of the Nasarawa State House of Assembly, Dr. Danladi Jatau, praised Andaha for his efforts. They emphasized that the projects would promote a conducive working environment and urged other local government chairmen to follow Andaha’s example in grassroots development.



Commissioners Yakubu Kwanta and Aminu Maifata also commended the council chairman and appreciated Governor Sule for laying a foundation for development through people-oriented projects across the state.



Andaha stated that the projects aim to create an enabling environment for the executive and legislature to perform their duties effectively and to improve productivity within the council. He added that the construction of the Nigerian Army residential building is part of efforts to promote peace in Akwanga and its environs. Andaha expressed gratitude to Governor Sule for allowing local government councils to manage their finances, enabling them to execute projects that benefit the people.
