Abuja:Minister of the Federal Capital Territory, Mr. Nyesom Wike, has instructed security agencies and the Department of Development Control to dismantle unauthorized beer parlours operating in the Asokoro area.
According to News Agency of Nigeria, the directive was issued after emerging security intelligence raised concerns about the operations of these establishments. Wike’s order followed a high-level security meeting with the FCT Commissioner of Police and the Director of the Department of State Services.
The minister emphasized that the FCT administration is taking these proactive measures to prevent potential criminal activities from developing. He stated that the area’s unauthorized beer parlours pose a security threat and reiterated that there were no approvals for such businesses.
To implement the decision, Wike has tasked the FCT Department of Development Control, along with security agencies, to clear the affected areas immediately. He stressed that this action is necessary to avert future security issues.
Wike also mentioned that informing residents about this decision is crucial to maintaining law and order in the nation’s capital.
