Tel aviv: Israel threatened on Wednesday that whoever Iran chooses as its new Supreme Leader would be ‘a target for elimination.’ Israeli Defence Minister Israel Katz said in a statement that ‘any leader’ appointed by the Iranian regime will be ‘an unequivocal target for elimination.’ He added that Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu has instructed the Israel Defence Forces to ‘prepare and utilise all means to execute this mission.’
According to News Agency of Nigeria, Mojtaba Khamenei, a son of former Iranian Supreme Leader Ali Khamenei, was named to succeed him, as reported by Iranian local media. This development comes amid heightened tensions between Israel and Iran, following a recent Israeli strike on a building of Iran’s Assembly of Experts, the body responsible for electing the supreme leader.
