Post: Market Capitalisation Rebounds with N178bn


Trading activities on the Nigerian equities market was dominated by positive sentiment on Thursday leading to the appreciation of the benchmark index.

Renewed investment sentiment uplifted the market capitalisation to rise by N178 billion to close at N55,753 trillion while the all-share index inched up by 0.32%, being 310.13 basis points to close at 97,025.17 basis points.

The market sentiment also maintained its positive trajectory to close with 27 gainers as against 22 losers.

Thursday’s trading saw a total of 390.54 million shares with market value of N7.9 billion traded in 9,615 deals.

FBN Holdings led the gainers after recording a 10% price rise to close at N26.40k,followed by Caverton Offshore Support Group also with 10% gain and a closing price of N2.31k then Flour Mills Nigeria which appreciated by 9.99% to close at N49.55k.

Conversely, the last three decliners were Daar Communications with a price loss of 8.86% to close at 0.72k,Eterna with 8.14% loss and a closing price of N32.15 while Univers
al Insurance Company dropped by 7.69% to close at N0.36k.

Access Holdings had the highest volume of traded shares at 80 million and was followed by FBN Holdings with 52 million shares.
