Lagos: Mohammed Daki, the Vice President of the National Association of Media and Publishers (ANME) of Morocco, has emphasized the importance of establishing a strong network of African journalists to project the continent positively.
According to News Agency of Nigeria, Daki expressed these views during an interview in Casablanca, highlighting that the initiative aims to enhance the partnership between Moroccan journalists and their counterparts across Africa. He noted that inviting African journalists to Morocco serves to strengthen existing collaborations and showcase the country’s infrastructural development and investment opportunities.
Daki stressed the necessity for African journalists to unite in order to effectively narrate Africa’s stories to a global audience. He pointed out that while past efforts often focused on external narratives, there is now a significant need to concentrate on internal developments within Africa to stay informed about regional events.
He further stated, “We believe in Africa, and it is crucial to provide the best for a continent rich in talents and opportunities.” Daki assured that the association’s initiative would continue, fostering ongoing partnerships among African journalists.
ANME, a Moroccan organization, represents various media sectors and is dedicated to addressing economic challenges within the industry, promoting professionalism, and advocating for media reform. Its objectives include improving governance, combating disinformation, and bolstering the financial health and independence of media organizations in Morocco.
