Abuja:The Minister of State for Regional Development, Uba Ahmadu, has cautioned Nigerians to be vigilant of scammers and desperate politicians as the 2027 general elections approach.
According to News Agency of Nigeria, Ahmadu conveyed his advice during an interview, urging voters to critically evaluate political promises and the current administration’s performance before determining the nation’s political trajectory.
He emphasized the importance of distinguishing between campaign promises and tangible achievements, warning that some politicians might pledge unrealistic outcomes to gain power. Ahmadu advised Nigerians to carefully compare the accomplishments of President Bola Tinubu’s administration with those of previous governments to better assess its performance.
Acknowledging the public’s concerns over economic challenges, Ahmadu asserted that the administration’s policies are aimed at addressing these issues. He highlighted the need for government spending to focus on sustainable solutions rather than temporary measures.
Ahmadu also pointed out significant infrastructure developments, particularly in roads and bridges, under the Tinubu administration, claiming they surpass those delivered by previous governments since independence. Additionally, he mentioned the Nigerian Education Loan Fund (NELFUND) as a crucial intervention for helping students from disadvantaged backgrounds access higher education.
He urged the electorate to scrutinize the administration’s sectoral achievements and compare them with past records before casting their votes in the 2027 elections. Ahmadu reiterated that voters should be cautious of politicians who make grand promises without a proven track record of delivery.
