Abuja:Dr. Esther Okereke, the Presidential Candidate of the National Rescue Movement (NRM), has expressed confidence in her ability to compete against prominent political figures such as President Bola Tinubu, Atiku Abubakar, and Peter Obi in the upcoming 2027 presidential election.
According to News Agency of Nigeria, Okereke made these statements during the Personality Interview Series held in Abuja. She emphasized her commitment to her party’s vision of rebuilding the nation and underscored the importance of governance blueprints over party size or political history.
Okereke highlighted the symbolism of NRM’s logo, the bee, which represents productivity, public service, and national development. She asserted that the influence of political parties comes from their candidates, citing examples of Labour Party gaining recognition through Peter Obi and the prominence of PDP and APC due to their candidates.
The NRM candidate chose to run on the party’s platform due to its focus on accountability, structural reform, and service delivery. She detailed the party’s extensive organizational network, which spans all 36 states, the Federal Capital Territory, 774 local government areas, and over 176,000 polling units nationwide.
Okereke also noted her background as a humanitarian in politics and emphasized NRM’s structured approach, with coordinators at every level, from polling units to senatorial districts. She believes that the party’s well-established system and efficient communication strategy will aid in mobilizing voters and achieving their political objectives.
