Lagos: Swede Control Intertek Ltd., an ISO-certified pre-shipment inspection firm, has projected a positive outlook for Nigeria’s export sector in 2026. The firm anticipates that stronger compliance, quality assurance, and government reforms will be the key drivers of this growth.
According to News Agency of Nigeria, the Managing Director of Swede Control Intertek, Mr. Folarin Familusi, shared these insights during a virtual interview with journalists in Lagos. The interview was organized to highlight the company’s recent attainment of ISO certification. Familusi elaborated on the company’s collaboration with the Federal Government to ensure the safety and quality of imports, verify duty collection, provide cargo security, and monitor oil and gas exports.
Familusi stated that the ISO certification would enable Swede Control Intertek to deliver services aligned with global standards, thereby enhancing value for clients and government agencies alike. “The certification places our indigenous firm on the international business map, improving service efficiency and boosting customer and investor confidence,” Familusi said, underscoring the importance of this milestone.
He further explained that the certification had strengthened staff morale, reduced errors, and decreased customer complaints. Additionally, the company plays a crucial role in the Nigerian Export Supervision Scheme, ensuring accurate reporting of crude oil exports. Familusi emphasized the importance of their role, especially in light of President Bola Tinubu’s focus on increasing Nigeria’s revenue. “Accurate duty application depends on our oversight,” he noted.
Familusi also pointed out that the combination of government policy reforms and the firm’s ISO certification has improved investor confidence. This development has repositioned the maritime and petroleum sectors as key drivers of economic growth in Nigeria.
