Addis Ababa:Vice President Kashim Shettima has returned to Abuja after attending the Nigeria-Ethiopia Nutrition Leadership Exchange Forum in Addis Ababa.
According to News Agency of Nigeria, the forum was held from October 7 to 9, focusing on the theme ‘Moving the Needle on Nutrition’. During his visit, Shettima led a Nigerian delegation that included governors, ministers, and other stakeholders, participating in discussions and field visits.
The discussions centered around topics such as nutrition, agriculture, early childhood development, technology, financing, and subnational delivery. The visit aimed to foster cooperation between Nigeria and Ethiopia and to share practical insights on improving nutrition and strengthening agricultural value chains. This effort seeks to enhance implementation at state, local government, and community levels.
Shettima also engaged in a bilateral meeting with Ethiopia’s Deputy Prime Minister, Temesgen Tiruneh. They reviewed bilateral relations and explored opportunities for greater collaboration in agriculture, trade, investment, food security, aviation, and other areas of shared interest. Shettima underscored the importance of African countries learning from each other.
