Abuja: The Police Community Relations Committee (PCRC) has donated food items to over 6,000 junior police families nationwide ahead of the yuletide. The PCRC National Chairman, Alhaji Mogaji Olaniyan, made this announcement while presenting the items to beneficiaries at the Force Headquarters.
According to News Agency of Nigeria, Olaniyan stated that the donation was made to acknowledge the efforts of junior police officers during the yuletide season and to celebrate their dedication to protecting lives and property. He emphasized that the contributions of the personnel of the Nigeria Police Force were invaluable and could not be measured by any donation.
Olaniyan highlighted that as the yuletide approaches, many Christian police officers will remain on duty, ensuring the safety of Nigerians while others celebrate with their families. He noted that these officers often miss the opportunity to be with their loved ones during the festive season, as they focus on safeguarding the public.
The donation also served as a gesture of appreciation for the efforts of the Inspector-General of Police, Mr. Kayode Egbetokun, reinforcing the partnership between the PCRC and the police force. Olaniyan urged Nigerians to extend love and gratitude to police officers and other security personnel during the festive season, acknowledging their unwavering commitment to public safety.
The PCRC’s initiative aims to set an example of appreciation for the police force, as it plays a crucial role in bridging the gap between the public and the Nigeria Police Force. Olaniyan encouraged citizens to express their appreciation to officers on duty, no matter how small, as it would have a significant impact.
