Abuja: Minister of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Nyesom Wike, has commenced a thank-you visit to the six area councils of the territory, following the results of the February 21 area council elections in the FCT. The tour started with the Bwari Area Council on Tuesday. The Minister expressed gratitude towards the residents for their support for President Bola Tinubu’s candidates during the election.
According to News Agency of Nigeria, the Minister emphasized the importance of fulfilling promises made during the election period. He conveyed President Tinubu’s gratitude to the people, assuring them that their support will not be taken for granted. The Minister highlighted the significance of agreements, noting that fulfilling one’s part of an agreement is crucial. He assured the Bwari residents of the necessary support from Tinubu’s administration, committing to work closely with the council’s Chairman-elect, Mr. Joshua Ishaku.
During the visit, Wike expressed his appreciation to the traditional leaders of the area, promising to honor and respect them accordingly. In response, Ishaku thanked Wike for his visit and praised his contributions to President Tinubu’s administration. He described Wike as a ‘humble father’ and assured him of Bwari Area Council’s full support in realizing the Renewed Hope Agenda in 2027. Ishaku acknowledged the developmental progress achieved since Wike’s assumption into office.
