Post: Doctor Reaches Jumla for Yoga Camp, Attends Medical Urgency

Jumla: A senior neurosurgeon at the National Trauma Centre, Kathmandu, had reached Jumla for a yoga camp. However, he had to attend a medical urgency-a neurosurgery of a person from Chumgaon of Patarasi Rural Municipality-3 in the district.

According to National News Agency Nepal, Nilam Kumar Khadka, a specialist neurosurgeon who had traveled to the mountainous district for yoga and meditation along with friends, was requested to extend support for conducting an operation on Gor Bahadur Bohara at Karnali Academy of Health Sciences (KAHS).

Bohara required head surgery after suffering a serious fall injury from a house roof four days prior. The medical team, led by Dr. Khadka, performed the operation successfully.

Dr. Nirmal Thapa from KAHS informed that the relatives of the injured Bohara urgently requested Dr. Khadka’s assistance after learning of his presence in the district, even though he was there for a different purpose.

Dr. Khadka and his team had been in Daupala village of Guthichaur Rural Municipality-5 for the yoga camp. He stated that he could not ignore the plea from those in need. The surgery was conducted free of cost.
