Abuja:Ms. Temitope Jacob, Convener of SPROUT, emphasized that professional skills alone may not guarantee a secure future unless individuals effectively communicate their value and build a recognizable personal brand. She shared these insights at an event organized by BrandXperience, themed ‘Personal Branding, Identity and the Value You Bring’.
According to News Agency of Nigeria, the event gathered young professionals, founders, and students to discuss reputation building and professional positioning. Jacob highlighted that many skilled individuals struggle to make their value clear to potential employers and collaborators. She noted that personal branding involves more than social media presence or an impressive CV, requiring clarity about one’s identity and values.
Jacob explained that BrandXperience aims to help people intentionally communicate their value and identity. The initiative provides learning opportunities and practical tools for professional and entrepreneurial positioning.
She mentioned that BrandXperience has built a community of over 5,000 members in Nigeria through physical and virtual programs. SPROUT, a quarterly personal branding event, is free for attendees, as is the ‘Own Your Name’ university tour for students. More specialized programs like BrandUp and the Resonance Blueprint offer structured personal branding education.
Hannah Famodimu, Community Manager of BrandXperience, stated that SPROUT has benefited thousands, helping participants understand and explore personal branding. She highlighted the role of partnerships and revenue from other programs in sustaining activities and urged for sponsorship support.
The event featured discussions on aligning public image with personal values and the launch of EVOLVE, a book on personal growth. Emmanuel Ajala, a BrandUp beneficiary, shared how the training helped him define his professional identity, leading to new career opportunities.
Ajala encouraged young people to develop a clear identity and communicate their value, emphasizing that personal branding is not just about being an influencer but about professional clarity and communication.
