Post: Kano State Government Invests N1 Billion in Renovation of Abdullahi Wase Specialist Hospital

Kano: The Kano State Government has invested N1 billion in the renovation of the state-owned Muhammadu Abdullahi Wase Specialist Hospital, according to health commissioner Abubakar Labaran. Labaran announced this on Saturday during a tour conducted for the Presidential Media Team, which is currently inspecting completed and ongoing projects in the region. The hospital, which has 230 bed spaces, is undergoing a comprehensive overhaul aimed at boosting service delivery.

According to News Agency of Nigeria, the facility comprises four main areas: obstetrics and gynaecology, internal medicine, pediatrics, and surgery. Labaran noted that the hospital had never before received the level of attention it is currently receiving since its establishment in the colonial era. “Now, it is undergoing a total renovation. It has been converted to a totally new facility; everywhere is so clean,” he stated.

Alhaji Marwan Ahmed-Aminu, the Commissioner of Works, remarked that the hospital’s renovation work is expected to be completed within the next two months. He added that the hospital would be equipped with modern facilities once the renovation is finished. Earlier during the tour, the team visited the Asiya Bayero Hospital, which was reclaimed by the current administration after being sold by a previous administration.
