Abuja: The Minister of State for the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Dr. Mariya Mahmoud, has been honored as the ‘Minister of State of the Year’. The accolade was presented on Friday night at the 6th edition of the Accolade Yellow Ball and Awards, held at the Transcorp Hilton in Abuja. The event was organized by Accolade Dynamics Ltd to celebrate outstanding achievements in leadership, entrepreneurship, and public service.
According to News Agency of Nigeria, the minister was recognized for her significant contributions to driving policy execution, sector reforms, and effective service delivery within the FCT Administration. Her roles in governance and community empowerment across the FCT were also highlighted. While receiving the award, Mahmoud expressed gratitude to the organizers for the recognition, describing it as a reflection of the collective commitment and hard work of the Nyesom Wike-led FCT Administration.
Mahmoud stated that the recognition would further motivate her to contribute to the development and transformation of the FCT, aligning with the Renewed Hope Agenda of President Bola Tinubu. She emphasized that leadership is fundamentally about service, commitment, compassion, and creating opportunities that positively impact citizens. The minister dedicated the award to the resilient people of the FCT, particularly women, youths, and community leaders, whose support continues to strengthen the administration’s resolve to deliver impactful governance.
The minister also praised the organizers for maintaining a platform that promotes excellence, integrity, innovation, and outstanding public service.
