Post: Mega Rally Planned in Nasarawa to Support Tinubu’s 2027 Re-election Bid

Lafia:Abuja The North Central Grassroots Mobilisation Network is organizing a major political rally in Lafia, Nasarawa State, to show collective support for President Bola Tinubu and Vice President Kashim Shettima’s re-election in the 2027 general elections.

According to News Agency of Nigeria, the rally, scheduled for Saturday in the Nasarawa State capital, will be hosted by Governor Abdullahi Sule. Nigeria’s First Lady, Sen. Oluremi Tinubu, is set to headline the event, which will include party leaders, supporters, and grassroots mobilisers.

National Chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Prof. Nentawe Yilwatda, highlighted the significance of the rally at a pre-rally meeting in Abuja attended by political stakeholders from the North Central region. The meeting served to review preparations and agree on strategies for effective mobilisation, ensuring a successful turnout.

Yilwatda described the Lafia gathering as the “mother of all rallies,” aimed at showcasing the North Central region’s political strength and commitment. The event is intended to bolster support for the Tinubu/Shettima ticket ahead of the 2027 presidential election and strengthen grassroots engagement across the region.

He emphasized the importance of grassroots mobilisation for consolidating the APC’s support base and noted the readiness of party leaders and officeholders to rally supporters from their constituencies. The mobilisation efforts will include women, youth groups, grassroots organisations, and other supporters.

Acknowledging the leadership of Sen. George Akume, the Secretary to the Government of the Federation, Yilwatda commended the efforts to unite political stakeholders across the region. He also praised Governor Sule for hosting the rally and providing essential support.

The participation of First Lady Sen. Oluremi Tinubu is anticipated to enhance the rally’s significance, offering an opportunity for women and grassroots groups to express their support for the administration. The stakeholders emphasized the need for effective coordination to ensure the rally’s peaceful and successful execution.

Yilwatda expressed condolences to the families affected by the recent Nigerian Air Force aircraft crash in Ondo State and the mining-related tragedy in Niger State, offering sympathies for these painful losses.

The meeting concluded with a reaffirmation of commitment from all participants to support the successful hosting of the Lafia rally and the re-election campaign for Tinubu and Shettima.
