Igbokoda:The Chief of the Air Staff, Air Marshal Sunday Aneke, visited Igbokoda, Ondo State, to oversee search, recovery, and investigation efforts following a recent air crash involving a Nigerian Air Force ATR 42 aircraft.
According to News Agency of Nigeria, Air Commodore Ehimen Ejodame reported that the visit was aimed at assessing the ongoing operations after the crash of NAF ATR 42 aircraft, NAF 931. Aneke expressed his condolences to the families of the victims, honoring their service and dedication.
During the visit, Aneke emphasized the commitment of the Nigerian Air Force to a professional and coordinated response. He assured the public and the families that all evidence would be carefully handled and that a thorough investigation would be conducted.
The Air Chief cautioned against speculation on the cause of the crash, stressing that conclusions would only be made after all evidence is meticulously reviewed. He also extended gratitude to President Bola Tinubu for his leadership during this crisis.
Air Vice Marshal EOE Ebiowe, heading the Investigation and Recovery Team, noted that the recovery efforts are progressing with collaboration from aviation, security, and emergency agencies. Ebiowe confirmed the security of the crash site and the preservation of evidence to support the investigation.
The Nigerian Air Force expressed appreciation for the support from government agencies, local authorities, and the public, and reiterated its focus on completing the recovery operation and supporting the families affected by the tragedy.
