Lagos: The Murtala Muhammed Airport Terminal Two (MMA2), managed by Bi-Courtney Aviation Services, has successfully revamped its car park system, leading to a significant reduction in vehicle turnaround time and removal of congestion that previously affected passenger experience.
According to News Agency of Nigeria, the Chief Operating Officer of Bi-Courtney, Mr. Remi Jibodu, highlighted these improvements during an interview on Wednesday. He noted that prior to the recent tariff adjustments at the multi-storey car park, MMA2 encountered major logistical challenges, with traffic often spilling over into drop-off zones and hindering access to the terminal entrance.
Jibodu emphasized that such congestion contradicted Bi-Courtney’s mission of excellence and global competitiveness. He stated, “The turnaround time has reduced drastically and capacity utilisation per time has dropped. By streamlining the flow, the facility has been reclaimed for its original purpose: providing a seamless, stress-free experience for passengers. The original users are now driving in and out without the associated stress of traffic within the car park.”
He further mentioned that this achievement has strategically positioned the terminal for regional operations. The recent settlement agreement, approved by the Federal Executive Council between the Federal Airports Authority of Nigeria (FAAN) and Bi-Courtney, marks a new chapter for MMA2, prioritizing passenger satisfaction and expanding its operational footprint.
Jibodu added that the settlement with FAAN has propelled the terminal’s vision, with plans to become a leading airport operator in the African aviation industry. “This settlement has propelled our vision in the coming weeks and months; we will see a lot,” he said.
Addressing global competitiveness, Jibodu expressed that MMA2’s pursuit of operational excellence is driven by its aim to maintain leadership in Nigerian airport management while aligning with international standards. He noted that the terminal’s commitment to innovation has resulted in several passenger-centric products, solidifying MMA2’s status as a preferred destination in Lagos.
