Post: NDRRMA Directs Districts to Halt Vehicles During Disasters

Kavre: The National Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Authority (NDRRMA) has instructed all district administration offices nationwide to suspend vehicular movement during disasters to ensure the safety and security of passengers and vehicles.

According to National News Agency Nepal, the Authority has also mandated district administration offices to take legal action against drivers and vehicle owners who disregard traffic halt notices. This directive follows the recent rescue of 89 passengers from the Roshi River in Kavre district after a flood on Monday evening.

The Authority expressed serious concerns about passenger safety due to the negligence of certain drivers. It emphasized the importance of adherence to notices and warnings issued based on weather forecasts provided by the Department of Hydrology and Meteorology.
