Abuja: Rep. Adesola Ayoola-Elegbeji, representing the Ikenne, Sagamu, and Remo North Federal Constituency in the House of Representatives, has announced a successful execution of more than 11 constituency projects within a span of seven months, marking the period as beneficial for the Ogun citizens.
According to News Agency of Nigeria, Ayoola-Elegbeji detailed her legislative achievements that have led to the implementation of various infrastructure projects. Despite facing challenges in project execution, her efforts have resulted in tangible benefits for her constituents. Projects include a solar lighting initiative in Ikenne Town and road construction in Iwolo, Sagamu. Other completed projects are the rehabilitation of health centers in Ibelefun and Ogijo, rural electrification along High Court Road in Orile-Oko, and the construction of a modern abattoir in Sagamu.
The lawmaker revealed ongoing and upcoming empowerment programs and personally funded road grading in Ward 14, Sagamu, to address severe erosion issues, highlighting her commitment to resolving immediate infrastructural challenges.
Ayoola-Elegbeji also mentioned sponsoring several bills and motions, such as the School of Nursing and Allied Professionals, Ode Lemo/Emuren Establishment Bill, and motions addressing local infrastructure and public health issues. Her efforts aim to restore privileges lost after the demise of her predecessor, Adewunmi Onanuga, by continuing innovative development initiatives.
She emphasized the importance of her re-election to maintain momentum on current and future projects, expressing gratitude for the support from her constituents and confidence in Governor Dapo Abiodun’s leadership to address these community needs.
Ayoola-Elegbeji advocates for greater female representation in politics, stressing the need to support incumbent women legislators to enhance legislative interventions for the public good. She highlighted the scarcity of female lawmakers in the House and urged for increased support and opportunities for women to sustain and expand their roles in governance.
