Post: Sule Lamido’s Son Joins Jigawa Governorship Race


Dutse: Mustapha Sule Lamido, a chieftain of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), has officially entered the Jigawa governorship race for the 2027 election. Lamido, who is the son of Sule Lamido, a prominent figure in the PDP and former governor of the state, announced his candidacy while presenting his nomination form to the party on Tuesday.



According to News Agency of Nigeria, Lamido previously served as the PDP gubernatorial flagbearer in the 2023 election. He stated that his decision to run for governorship comes after extensive consultations with party stakeholders in Jigawa. Lamido expressed his conviction in the party’s philosophy and its capacity to overcome internal challenges, as well as address the broader issues facing Nigeria.



Lamido emphasized the confidence he holds in the PDP, asserting that the people of Jigawa and Nigerians at large share this belief. He noted that no other party has implemented projects and programs that have positively impacted the lives of Nigerians like the PDP. He criticized the current APC-led government for its inability to introduce effective programs for sustainable social and economic development in the country.
