Post: Youth Group Buys APC Form for Philanthropist Chiedozie

Abuja: The Nigerian Youth in Politics (NYP) has purchased the All Progressives Congress (APC) expression of interest and nomination forms for philanthropist Mr. Igbiki Chiedozie to contest the Aniocha South Constituency seat in the Delta State House of Assembly. Presenting the forms in Abuja, the NYP National Secretary, Mr. Duke Alamboye, highlighted that the gesture was part of a broader initiative aimed at increasing youth representation in governance.

According to News Agency of Nigeria, the NYP has mobilised nearly 700 young aspirants nationwide to contest elective positions. Mr. Alamboye stated that the group’s mission is to integrate young Nigerians into mainstream politics. He emphasized the importance of young people actively participating at all levels, expressing openness to both consensus and direct primaries as allowed by law.

The group’s National Organising Secretary, Mr. Virgin Onyenze, praised Chiedozie as a credible candidate with a proven track record. Onyenze reiterated the organisation’s commitment to supporting capable youths who lack the financial resources to purchase nomination forms and encouraged qualified young Nigerians to pursue elective offices.

In response, Chiedozie, a former Senior Special Assistant to the Delta Governor, pledged to focus on youth empowerment, healthcare, agriculture, security, and education if elected. He emphasized promoting practical youth empowerment, expanding outreach programmes in the health sector, and enhancing agricultural initiatives. Chiedozie also committed to supporting students with Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME) registrations and tuition assistance.

Chiedozie expressed gratitude to Governor Sheriff Oborevwori for his dedication to youth development and acknowledged the mentorship of former Governor Sen. Ifeanyi Okowa for his contributions to Delta North.
