Post: Minister Wike Highlights Tinubu’s Performance-Driven Agenda in FCT

Abuja:The Minister of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Mr. Nyesom Wike, has emphasized that the performance-focused agenda of President Bola Tinubu’s administration will serve as its primary campaign for public support in the FCT.

According to News Agency of Nigeria, Wike, during a media chat in Abuja, highlighted significant achievements in areas such as security, rural-urban infrastructure, and native community engagement. He dismissed claims of defensive politics in Abuja, emphasizing a shift towards governance based on measurable results.

Wike noted that by addressing the gap between the city center and satellite communities, public perception has been positively reshaped. He pointed out that numerous impactful projects have been executed and inaugurated in the capital, with ten more set for inauguration in December.

Key projects, such as the road networks linking suburban corridors like Apo-Karshi and Kubwa-Bwari, have been identified as significant to residents. Additionally, the administration has decentralized security operations by establishing two new police stations in every area council.

The administration has also facilitated broad stakeholder inclusion, bringing together political leaders, former lawmakers, and local council chiefs across party lines in support of government policies. Wike defended the administration’s approach to issues affecting indigenous communities, including traditional institutions and appointments, challenging critics to find another administration more accommodating to indigenous interests.

He expressed confidence that the administration’s efforts have effectively communicated its message to residents, while noting that the final electoral outcome will be determined through the democratic process.
