Post: Idris Inaugurates Consensus Committee for Kebbi APC Primaries


Abuja: Gov. Nasir Idris of Kebbi has inaugurated a consensus committee to harmonise the interests of aspirants ahead of the All Progressives Congress (APC) primaries for the 2027 general elections. During the inauguration in Birnin Kebbi, Idris emphasized that the APC in the state is peaceful and united, with members committed to the party’s progress.



According to News Agency of Nigeria, the committee consists of experienced party leaders selected to foster unity and ensure the emergence of candidates through consensus. Idris stressed the importance of consensus as a pathway forward, highlighting the committee’s role in engaging stakeholders and reconciling interests for a seamless primary process.



Gov. Idris expressed confidence in the committee’s ability to unite members and strengthen the party through consensus. He assured members of the committee that their efforts would yield positive results, urging them to begin their work without delay.



In response, Alhaji Saidu Nasamu-Dakingari, the committee’s Chairman and former governor of the state, thanked the governor for the trust placed in them. He expressed confidence in the committee’s collective capability to meet its objectives, citing the experience and capacity of its members.



The News Agency of Nigeria reports that the committee includes Alhaji Saidu Nasamu-Dakingari as Chairman and members Alhaji Suleiman Argungu, Alhaji Abubakar Kana-Zuru, Alhaji Abubakar Gari-Mallam, Alhaji Abubakar Muhammad (Birnin Kebbi), Alhaji Attahiru Machido, Alhaji Umar Idris-Buro, and Alhaji Yakubu Bala-Tafida.
